Center for Joint Surgery of Southwest Hospital Successfully Holds the National Knee Replacement Class

The Total Knee Replacement Class approved by the National Continuing
Education Center and sponsored by the Center for Joint Surgery of Southwest Hospital
was successfully held in Chongqing Southwest Hospital on July 27-28, 2014.
The participants of this class were all senior joint surgeons with surgery
experience on joint replacement, therefore, the focus of the training class
emphasized more on clinical practicality and skills. The theoretical content of
the lectures meticulously given by Professor Liu Yang and Associate Professor Lin
Guo during the training class included conventional knee replacement preparation,
preoperative X-ray template of knee replacement and reading, knee replacement soft
tissue balance and minimally invasive knee replacement technology, etc.
In addition to theoretical study, the class also prepared practical contents
for the students, including watching the live broadcast of total knee replacement
surgery, on-site corpse operation, discussion on difficult cases, etc.
Students were enthusiastic about their studies and praised Professors Liu
Yang and Associate Professor Lin Guo of their excellent surgical skills. The fully
prepared organizing committee, the details explained by the experts, as well as
the elite and small class (only 12 participants) were thought to be the main reasons
for the success of the class.
Participants generally agreed that this class had improve their theoretical
level and practical ability, thus creating a good soil for improving their knee
replacement surgery.
